As I was grilling dinner tonight, I had a little audience. Mr. Grumps was enjoying the evening with a glass of wine, and his faithful friend was at his side, waiting for an ear scratch. I love

After a slightly stressful week, I treated myself to a trip to the garden store. It's newly built, and I love just roaming around, smelling, poking and reading those little plastic stakes sticking out of each plant that tell you everything you need to know.

Most of the summer recipes I will be posting call for fresh herbs and seasonings, so get a large pot, and plant all in one: basil, mint, parsley and rosemary. You won't regret it.

aw bailey boo! see isnt dave matthews the BEST ever. you and me is one of my favorites on the new album. where did you hear it? i think our road trip to albany we will listen to the whole cd.
The herb garden sounds good. Can you give more details on what would be good to plant. How big a pot do I need?
I usually use a 12-inch pot to fit about 4-6 herbs (use "Moisture Control" soil mix if you can get it). They grow fast, so try not to crowd them together.
I'm always able to find "homes" for the little plants I don't use from the 6-packs. I like to give little pots of basil as gifts, along with pasta and a bottle of wine. Makes a nice housewarming gift, or just a simple "thanks!"
